Málaga CF and Real Madrid CF meet at the Rosaleda in game 28 of the Liga BBVA season with two different objectives.
The home side, who on Monday defeated CA Osasuna and thus ended their run of four games without a win, are three points above the relegation zone, and will be looking to record a big scalp to move up the table. Ex-Madrid coach Bernd Schuster will welcome back Mounir El Hamdaoui, Francisco Portillo and José Manuel Casado, whilst Jesús Gámez and Sergi Darder miss out through suspension. "Madrid are playing very well and they're very strong. We have to be stable in all areas. I think it will be a good game", said the German.
Meanwhile Real Madrid are 29 games undefeated in all competitions, and will be looking to stay at the top of the table. They’ll have to do so without the suspended Sergio Ramos and injured duo Álvaro Arbeloa and Sami Khedira. "The side are focused. Málaga is an important game, and we are going to play against a side that after beating Osasuna will be confident", said Carlo Ancelotti in his pre-match press conference.
