The UEFA Supercup will open up the 2014/15, with the two Liga BBVA sides fighting it out for another trophy. Take a look at some facts and figures regarding the teams and the match.

Equality reigns in the stats department

Despite the fact Real Madrid and Sevilla have played in seven Supercup matches between them, they have only managed to win the trophy once each. The Whites did so against Feyenoord in 2002, whilst the Ansalusians beat Barcelona in 2006.

The new boys

The match will be a test for many players from both sides. Whilst the Whites have brought in Toni Kroos, Keylor Navas and James Rodríguez following their excellent World Cup campaigns, Sevilla have several new faces: Iago Aspas, Alejandro Arribas, Aleix Vidal, Bryan Rabello, Denis Suárez, Alberto Botía, Denis Suárez and Grzegorz Krychowiak.

Liga BBVA the star of the show

Spanish presence in this fixture is a regular thing over the past few seasons. This match, as with four of the last five, will have a Liga BBVA team taking the spoils.

Carlo Ancelotti's trophy cabinet

If there’s one person who gets on especially well in the Supercup it is the Real Madrid manager, who has won the title on four occasions. In 2007 his Milan side beat Sevilla 2-1 to take the spoils.
