'Champions for Life' raised €550,000 for charity, money which will be distributed by the Spanish Committee for UNICEF among children who have been affected by Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines, and by the Liga de Fútbol Profesional among the many social projects it works with through its Foundation. The match saw the East and West teams, made up of Liga BBVA and Liga Adelante players, go head-to-head.
Representing the East team during the first third of the match were: Leo Franco, Adriano, Moisés H., Héctor Moreno, Álex Martínez, Tissone, Diop, Suso, Pizzi, J. Pereira and Helder Postiga; during the second third of the match were: Andrés Fernández, Nyom, Ricardo Costa, Planas, Antonio López, Ayoze, Antonio Hidalgo, Tomás Pina, Brahimi, Lafita and Samu; and during the final third of the match were: K. Navas, Kitoko, Lolo, Bernardo Cruz, Edu Albacar, Javier Hervás, Rivera, Nauzet Alemán, J. Viera, Pabón and J. Zongo.
Representing the West team during the first third of the match were: Goitia, Manuel Pablo, Sergio Ramos, Iñigo Martínez, Manu, Álex López, Gabi, Álvaro Antón, Rakitic, Carlos Vela and Quini; during the second third of the match were: Jesús Fernández, Iraola, Babin, Marrero, Canella, Trashorras, Víctor Pérez, Pedro León, Jairo and Yuri de Souza; and during the final third of the match were: Dani Jiménez, Hugo Mallo, Juanfran, Carlos Peña, Yuri Berchiche, Beñat, Omar Mascarell, Sarabia, Lass, Cedrick and Morata. The teams were managed by Javier Aguirre and Paco Jémez. The referee was Velasco Carballo and his linesmen were Alonso Fernández and Yuste Jiménez. The final score read: East 8 – 6 West.
