"Nobody should miss an event like this", stated Real Sporting de Gijón's left-back, Roberto Canella, with a satisfied grin soon after finding out that he would be playing in what will undoubtedly be one of the sporting events this Christmas.
The 'Champions for life' match, which will see Liga BBVA and Liga Adelante players join forces on the turf of the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu, is drawing near, and the Asturian club's captain will also be there to enjoy the occasion. "I am proud to represent Sporting in a match that helps fight poverty and helps children in the Philippines. Football moves people and, if we can use its power to support initiatives like this, then we always should".
Canella also spoke of his excitement about playing alongside Liga BBVA and Liga Adelante stars on the same team: "I am really going to enjoy the experience to the max. It is going to be something else sharing a dressing room with players like Íñigo Martínez, Giovani dos Santos and Juan Carlos Valerón. Also, although it may seem incidental, I'll be playing in the Bernabéu as a home player".
The Sporting player did not want to miss the chance to call upon any fans who want to experience an amazing night: "They have to come and cheer us on because, as well as being for a good cause, they are going to see a great spectacle, international players and an incredible atmosphere", he assured.
