Alberto Bueno has written a new page into the Rayo Vallecano history books after becoming the first ever player at the club to score four goals in one Liga BBVA match. The feat came on the most recent matchday, in the space of just 14 minutes against Levante UD, and has helped the Madrid-born forward to claim the BBVA Award for 'Liga BBVA Player of the Month', an accolade chosen by the official website of the LFP and given out by BBVA, the league’s main sponsor.
His superlative goal haul on matchday 25, added to a further strike during February against Villarreal, leaves him on twelve for the season, a total that makes him the top Spanish marksman in the Liga BBVA so far this term. What’s more, he is two away from becoming Rayo Vallecano’s highest ever goalscorer in the Liga BBVA, an honour currently held by Jon Pérez Bolo with 25.
