Luis Garcia was a versatile, pacy player who featured mainly as a left-sided forward and came up through the FC Barcelona youth ranks. After a number of loan spells he made his breakthrough in LaLiga with Atletico Madrid in the 2002-3 campaign.
He returned to FC Barcelona the following year and then had a successful spell with Liverpool before reacquainting himself with the Calderon for a two-year stint between 2007 and 2009.
