LaLiga with sport
The boy who lived his dream: winning a LaLiga title with his childhood club and going on to become one of their greatest ever players.
David Albelda lead Valencia CF to two Champions League finals in 2000 and 2001, and also lifted Los Che's two most recent LaLiga titles in 2001-02 and 2003-04. The midfield trio he formed alongside Ruben Baraja and Pablo Aimar was one of Europe's best, and the hallmark of arguably the greatest Valencia team in their 100 year history.
The number 6 will always be remembered as one of LaLiga's most iconic figures, as well as being one of Mestalla's most beloved captains and record appearance makers, having played a total of 574 matches for the club.
