One of Real Sociedad's living legends and a central figure in the development of the team from San Sebastian. It is impossible to talk about Real Sociedad Women without reference to Aintzane Encinas.
The footballer moved to Zubieta in 2004, the year that the women's side was created, and in the space of only two seasons helped them achieve promotion to the Liga Iberdrola. Encinas made over 350 appearances for the club, the majority of them wearing the captain's armband.
She hung up her boots in 2017, and La Real recognised her career and her influence on the development of the women's game by awarding her the club's Gold and Diamond Pin.
