Africa also joined the LFP World Challenge Tour fever. Tangier was tinged with Nazarí atmosphere from early in the morning so that the day was a resounding success. Granada CF flags, Ittihad Tangier shirts, chants from hours before the match and more than 25,000 souls in a very enthusiastic ground were the best possible international window for LaLiga.
The final result, with a win for the Moroccans by 2-1, was not important. The work done by José Ramon Sandoval players met expectations of the coaching staff in one of the toughest tests of the preseason. Still, the match served for the home crowd to enjoy El Arabi, scorer of Granada’s goal, which earned him to get the Man of the Match award handed by the LFP World Challenge project ambassador, José Luis Astiazarán:"I thank Laliga for bringing to Africa this beautiful enterprise. People have enjoyed, had a good time and been able to see live a great show. I am delighted at the collective and personal level because the LFP World Challenge Tour has shown that we are a reference in my continent".
José Luis Astiazarán himself, LFP World Challenge Tour ambassador, pointed after the match that "Morocco gave an enthusiastic support, people went back to their homes really happy and all have enjoyed. From children to adults. The atmosphere lived tonight has been incredible and shows that, once again, this project grows bigger every time. We have traveled to every continent, with praises of all kinds to LaLiga and Marca España. That will help us continue to grow and resume as soon as possible a project that will keep us all happy. And Africa has not been less.”
Another LFP World Challenge Tour, another success for LaLiga and a different way to shine guided of Marca España. For two days, Morocco turns into Granada colors and Tangier became in to hope to enjoy the best football in the world.
