LALIGA and the National Council for Sport, Physical Education and Recreation (CONDEPOR) of Honduras have successfully completed the three phases of an ambitious coach training project that has strengthened the strategic alliance between the two institutions and demonstrated the country's strong commitment to the growth and professionalisation of its football.

During September and October, three intensive courses were held, each lasting four days, in which more than 120 Honduran coaches received theoretical and practical training based on the LALIGA Methodology. Participants included former international players, former national team coaches and coaches from local academies, representing all regions of the country.

The project has enjoyed the full involvement of the Honduran government, which has shown exemplary institutional and political support since its inception. The sessions were attended by the Minister of Sport, Mario Moncada, and, notably, the President of the Republic, Xiomara Castro, whose attendance underlines the national importance of the programme and the priority given by the Executive to the development of sport as a social and educational driver.

During their institutional visits to the training sessions, President Xiomara Castro and Minister Mario Moncada expressed their satisfaction with the development of the project and stated their intention to continue the partnership with LALIGA, reinforcing their joint commitment to training, infrastructure creation and the professionalisation of Honduran football.

The authorities highlighted that this programme is one of the most visible examples of the country's sports policy, which has already carried out projects to create pitches, improve facilities and invest in technical training, with the aim of generating opportunities for future generations of players and coaches.

Throughout the three phases, LALIGA coaches provided advanced training in training planning, working methodology, team management and educational values, with the aim of strengthening the skills of local coaches and consolidating a sustainable model of talent development such as that of LALIGA. The programme was highly rated by CONDEPOR and the participants, who highlighted the high technical level and practical applicability of the content.

"This project exemplifies LALIGA's commitment to sharing its knowledge and training model with other countries," said Juan Florit, head of football projects at LALIGA. "Honduras has become a strategic partner in our work to internationalise the sustainable football model that characterises LALIGA, and the involvement of its institutions has been key to the success of this programme."

"This project is part of a broader strategy through which LALIGA has been developing numerous training programmes throughout the Americas since 2016, in collaboration with leagues, clubs and federations. We have promoted coach training programmes, internships for young talents in Spain, camps in different countries and long-term projects such as permanent academies. The region has enormous potential, and our work involves supporting countries in the development of sustainable sports structures that guarantee the growth of football from the grassroots level," said Nicolás García Hemme, Managing Director of LALIGA North America.

With the completion of its three phases, this project has established itself as a success story in the international transfer of knowledge and the promotion of grassroots football, reaffirming LALIGA's leadership as a global benchmark in sports education and trainer training. The Honduran authorities and LALIGA have expressed their willingness to maintain and expand this cooperation in the future, exploring new joint initiatives to continue promoting the growth of football in the country.
