Granada CF and RCD Espanyol go head to head to bring matchday 34 of the Liga BBVA to a close, with both fighting to meet their objectives. The Andalusians, who have gone seven games without winning in the Spanish top flight, need to earn the three points if they are to begin their climb towards survival, something which the Catalan outfit – who are 10th on 42 points – are much closer to.
Team news
Granada come into the clash beset by injury problems that leave them without five regulars in Dimitri Foulquier, Juan Carlos, Jeison Murillo, Adrián Colunga and Eddy Silvestre. Meanwhile, Espanyol travel to southern Spain without Felipe Mattioni but with Víctor Sánchez, who returns after serving a one-match ban.
Views from the dugout
Home coach Resino was in little doubt about the situation his team are in, saying: "We’re going to give our all to win Thursday’s game." Speaking to the media pre-match, opposite number Sergio González was categorical: "Survival is at stake for Granada". And the visiting boss also revealed that if his side do not reach the required standard they will "have a tough time".
