Indecisiveness was a defining characteristic in Real Zaragoza’s first months in Liga Adelante, but it seems that they have finally settled into their new division. Results are now flowing for the side who have won their last three games, against Girona FC, UD Las Palmas and Córdoba CF. Moving up to seventh in the table is a significant sign that the side from Aragon are now getting back that winning feeling.
Despite the doubts and under performing of the side in the first few games, there was never any panic at the club. One of the main reasons for that is their manager Paco Herrera, a manager with 333 games experience in Liga Adelante, experience he used to changed the way the matches were going.
Herrera has been able to mix youth and experience in the side, despite losing key members of least season’s squad, and has got them purring again. Zaragoza sit level on points with SD Eibar in sixth, on the edge of the playoff places. Their upward trajectory means they’re a serious candidate to be playing in Liga BBVA next season.
Seriousness and intensity are two of the key reasons as to why Real Zaragoza have been able to start smiling again, allowing them to win their last three games. A compact side, who thanks to their patient approach have been able to benefit late on in their games against Girona (79th minute) and Córdoba (added time), showing the tenacity that has catapulted them up the Liga Adelante table.
