The event counted with the attendance of over 80 representatives and executives from the majority of the Bulgarian professional football clubs such as Levski Sofia, CSKA Sofia, CSKA 1948, Ludogorets, Botev Plovdiv, Cherno More, among others, along with active and former football players such as Ivelin Popov, Elin Topuzakov or Mihail Aleksandrov.

The seminar was introduced by His Excellency Mr. Alejandro Polanco, Ambassador of Spain in Bulgaria, and by Milo Borissov, the majority shareholder of Telematic Interactive Bulgaria and Palms Bet. "Through such seminars, we hope that our company will contribute to the development of football in our country because we believe that the experience of countries like Spain can be very useful for Bulgarian sports," said Mr. Milo Borissov.

For Jesús Pizarro Bravo, regional delegate of LaLiga, the event’s main aim was achieved, with LaLiga getting closer to Bulgarian football and its clubs, knowing more about their challenges and contributing by sharing knowledge, best practices, and networking between the participants.

The event consisted of two blocks, where leading speakers from Baskonia-Alaves Group’s Chief Strategy, Innovation and New Business Officer, Aitor Jiménez, LaLiga’s International Digital Content Coordinator Xiaowei Guo, Atletico de Madrid’s Business Development Director, Diego Sanchez, and Real Betis’ Head of Sponsorship, Pablo Arquero, participated sharing their knowledge in areas like digital strategies, fan engagement, innovation, commercial strategies, sponsorships, and revenue generation.

The presentations were followed by a round table discussion where CEO of CSKA 1948, Dobrin Gionov, and UEFA Venue Director, Pavel Kolev, joined as local experts with the Spanish LaLiga clubs’ representatives, alongside the moderation from Milen Nikolov, Marketing Project Manager at Palms Bet and Jesús Pizarro, as delegate of LaLiga to Bulgaria.

The round table participants discussed about different topics, addressing first some of the challenges of the local football industry, debating about potential next steps to follow by Bulgarian clubs, while sharing best practices and ideas around areas like financial sustainability, fan engagement, professionalisation of the clubs’ structures and governance.

All participants expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to take part in the event, while LaLiga along with Palms Bet and the “Sport in Bulgaria” foundation are planning to hold more online sessions and another physical edition in the near future.
